What It Is

A governed path from emergent signal to public source

From Signal to Source is an open, versioned methodology for taking an idea that emerges in a live conversation or observation and moving it through thesis formation, deep research, adversarial challenge, theory refinement, article construction, publication architecture, and platform-specific distribution.

The method is designed to preserve uncertainty, distinguish evidence from synthesis, force counterargument and disconfirmation into the research phase, and keep each agent bounded to an authorized stage rather than allowing one model to silently perform the entire publication chain.

Pipeline

Capture → Thesis → Deep Research → Challenge → Refine → Draft → Publish → Distribute

1. Signal Miner

Extracts the durable pattern from the originating conversation or observation without prematurely researching or drafting the article.

2. Thesis Architect

Turns the pattern into a challengeable thesis, central research question, mechanism, and explicit conditions that could strengthen or weaken it.

3. Research Director

Builds the interdisciplinary evidence base, including competing definitions, history, empirical work, exceptions, counterarguments, and deliberate disconfirmation paths.

4. Evidence Auditor

Audits source quality and claim fit, classifying claims as established, contested, synthesis, proposed framework, or unsupported.

5. Theory Refiner

Records what survived, weakened, changed, or was rejected after research and turns the surviving structure into a sharper working framework.

6. Article Builder

Constructs the public article while preserving source boundaries, exceptions, proposed terminology, and the distinction between recurrence and false equivalence.

7. Publication Architect

Inspects the existing publishing environment and determines placement, metadata, canonical URLs, indexing, structured data, and download surfaces.

8. Distribution Agent

Creates platform-native rollout copy without making any claim stronger than the canonical source.

Governance

The stage boundary is part of the method

Each agent proposes the next state rather than silently assuming authority to perform every downstream step.

The stage envelope ends with STATUS, ARTIFACT, UNCERTAINTIES, GATE CHECK, and NEXT AUTHORIZED STAGE. A failed gate requires repair rather than automatic advancement.

This makes the workflow useful not only as a writing process but as an example of bounded agent orchestration.

Validation status

The workflow was derived from a completed end-to-end article-development process and formalized as a reusable method. v1.0.0 is not represented as peer reviewed, universally applicable, or independently validated.
